A Note From Mrs. Cardwell

It is always amazing to see how quickly the school year passes. We just finished our 2nd quarter of report cards and are officially half way through the school year.

During the 2nd quarter, our students practiced and performed Mountain View Academy’s first musical. Although many of our students are veteran actors, coming to Mountain View Academy with plenty of experience, this was a new experience for some. All of the students rose to the challenge, performing in the Lowell High School gymnasium in front of a packed house. Approximately 400 people attended the event. The amount of effort that went in to the production really demonstrated the depth of commitment of our staff, our parents, and our students.

During December and January, our families collected several tons of used electronics as a fundraiser for additional technology. On January 12, 15 computers on a cart were delivered to us from Next Step Recycle. We are excited to see our teachers put these to use, adding technology to strengthen our program.

We have some great field trips coming up. On January 30, our students will be spending the day at OMSI. They will tour the museum and go on a special tour of a WWII submarine.

As we look ahead to the 2nd half of the school year, we are eagerly anticipating the presentation of our spring musical. I am confident that the students will once again rise to the occasion and make this another memorable evening.
