A 2011 graduate of George Fox University, Kirsten has been teaching for four years and is in her second year at Mountain View Academy. She enjoys the outdoors and spends her free time fishing and kayaking. During the fall she is the assistant soccer coach at Northwest Christian University.
Amy graduated in 2011 from Western Oregon University. Her patience and high energy level in the classroom creates a fun and positive place to learn. Outside of the classroom, Amy enjoys coaching soccer, and spending time doing things in the outdoors with her husband and family.
Erin graduated in 2011 from Concordia University with a Master in Education focusing on curriculum and instruction. Erin believes the classroom is a place to learn while having fun. She is devoted to making sure each student succeeds to their fullest potential. Erin loves to spend time with her family and friends and also enjoys camping, hunting, and cooking.
A 2007 graduate of George Fox University, Jessica has been teaching for five years. In 2012 she lead the Thurston Women’s Soccer Team to a state championship and is now coaching the Northwest Christian University Women’s Soccer Team. Jessica has spent the last three summers volunteering in Nicaragua at The Villa Esperanza, a rescue mission for young girls. When she is not teaching, volunteering, tutoring, or coaching, Jessica loves to travel abroad.
Carmen is excited to be back at Mountain View Academy. After teaching 5th/6th grade last year, she is excited to move to the 4th grade classroom. Carmen is originally from Spokane, Washington and graduated from Eastern Washington University with a BA in Applied Psychology and a Master in Elementary Education. One of her favorite aspects of teaching is helping each student realize how smart they are and how incredibly capable each and every child is in achieving their goal. Carmen loves teaching social studies and math, and implements hands on activities throughout each subject. When she’s not teaching, she enjoys gardening, playing frisbee golf, and spending time with her family.
Rob has a Bachelor’s degree from Oregon State University, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Pacific University, and a license in Special Education from Pacific University. He has fifteen years of experience working with children in the mental health field and has taught school for six years. He enjoys hunting, fishing, sports, and spending time with his wife and sons.
Marcy graduated from Pacific University in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, and received her master’s degree in special education and a reading endorsement from Saint Joseph’s University in 2014. For the last eight years, she has taught students of various grades in the mental health field. Marcy enjoys traveling, playing tennis, and rooting on the Oregon Ducks and Portland Trailblazers with her husband and two children.
Jill has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and one in Psychology from the University of Oregon. When she’s not busy with her three children or making cupcakes, she volunteers her time coaching junior high track and leading the middle school Battle of the Books team. We look forward to great things from her during this upcoming school year.
Rachel is very excited to be joining the Mountain View Academy community! Originally from Seattle, she has since lived in Boston, New York, and Los Angeles before moving to Eugene. Rachel received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University and Master’s in Education from the University of Oregon. In her free time, Rachel loves to swim or go running with her dog!
